. I have been staying at Moab Rim Campark for 4 years running, always through the month of October. Although everyone is welcome at Moab Rim Campark, mountain bikers will especially feel at home here. If you are looking for a resort, or heated swimming pool, or air conditioned outdoor mini golf, then this is not the place for you, however if you are looking to stay somewhere with an adventurous feel, somewhere that offers stunning views, and somewhere that is mountain bike friendly, then … [Read more...]

Deer Creek Trail Crested Butte

Deer Creek Trail is together with the 401 Trail, Crested Butte's most well known trail. Deer Creek is more challenging than the previous trails I have done in the Butte area. It was freezing cold, and snowing, and I had 27 miles ahead of me. The trail was slippery, it was cold, and to make make things worse I crashed, and spent 30 minutes repairing my bike.. So did all of this make me hate the Deer Creek Trail? Trail Stats & Information Nearby City: Crested Butte Length: 27.1 … [Read more...]
Crested Butte 401 Trail

Most mountain bikers in the USA, and even abroad know of, or have heard about Crested Butte's 401 trail. Turkey Pen Gap – Black Mountain and a Rattlesnake with anger issues

Turkey Pen Gap >> Black Mountain Of all the trails I have ever rode, and all the (minor) accidents I have had, I have never been as scared as I was on this trail, and it had nothing to do with steep downhills, or jumps or baby heads, dragons teeth, nope, it was all due to a massive beefy rattlesnake with anger issues!!! I was dropped off on SH 280 at the beginning of TurkeyPen Road, I then cycled to the trail head to start my Turkey Pen Gap and down Black Mountain Adventure.. As I … [Read more...]
Helm Cam Video of Burnt Mountain North Carolina
Burnt Mountain Trail, is a small but very nice loop in the DuPont State Forest, one of many that can be combined to make an excellent 4-5 Mountain Bike Epic of the area. This footage was taken on the downhill section of the trail. This loop was done anti clockwise. The downhill is an easy grade 2+, but caution is definitely needed on this fast singletrack. These trails are shared by walkers and horse riders, so extra caution is needed. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy9uMhgav5Q … [Read more...]
Mountain Bike Mayem 2009 kicks off in North Carolina

Today I rode my first trail of my Mountain Bike Mayhem Tour 2009. The first trail I rode was actually a mix of small loops, just to get myself accumulated to the almost 100% humidity!!.. well that's what it feels like. The trails I did today are in the DuPont State Forest. With what it seems like 100's of short trails in this forest it was very easy to put a loop together. Yesterday I drove to the starting point, and was lucky to catch a very friendly local Mountain biker named Steve, who … [Read more...]
